Benny Kleinerman is a PhD student funded by the Darwin Trust of Edinburgh. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2019, then worked for a few years as a research technician at the University of Montpellier in France. He is currently studying evolutionary gains and losses of functions in proteins, using fungi as a model system.
