Cuchulainn Gent graduated from Edinburgh Medical school in 2023 with an MBChB and BSc Hons in Infectious Diseases. He finished his Foundation Training in the West of Scotland deanery mainly working in acute & emergency medicine.

In 2025 he commenced an MSc in Infection Biology at the University of Lübeck, Germany, whilst working part time clinically. He is currently engaged in an internship at the Wallace lab to develop his knowledge in mycology & his research skills by investigating the localisation of cell wall proteins in Candida albicans through fluorescent tagging.

In the future he intends to pursue a PhD and medical specialism in Infectious Diseases.
