Domenico Modaffari was a PhD student working on the role of local translation during hyphal growth in filamentous fungi. He was a joint student with Ken Sawin at the Wellcome Centre for Cell Biology and was funded by the Wellcome Integrative Cell Mechanisms programme.

Domenico previously completed a BSc in Molecular Genetics at King’s College London, and spent a year at the University of California, Berkeley during the course of his degree.

Domenico is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Samara Reck-Peterson at Weill Cornell College of Medicine in New York City.
